Description
Kastaplast Stål
The STÅL fairway driver is now PDGA approved and the first run was released Dec 13th 2017.
The Stål is an Overstable Fairway driver designed to be dependable in all conditions including fighting headwinds and is perfect for skip shots and large hyzers. It sits nicely between the Kaxe and Grym X in the Kastplast range.
Stål is Swedish for steel.
The ‘å’ is pronounced like the ‘eau’ in French, but go ahead and say “staal” or anything else that comes natural.
Stål was a common soldier’s name back in the days when Swedish soldiers were named by the military, a tradition that started in the sixteenth century. Today it’s a last name.
In Sweden, Superman goes under the name of Stålmannen.
So as you can see… Stål is a very tough word!
Stål in traditional flight specs: Speed 9, glide 4, turn 0, fade 3.

Overstable and great for holding a line into a headwind and a consistent and reliable fade. Fantastic for control hyzers!

I Bought the Kastaplast Stal in K1 Glow plastic and I Love it! Nice and stable for strong headwinds and Stable four-hand flick shots, for me it fits in my bag right between my Teebird3 and Champ Firbird. The K1 is such a nice feeling Plastic Blend that it just comes out of the hand so Smooth….cant fault this Disc! oh and it Glows better than any other Glow plastic I’ve seen!
I highly recommend Kastaplast Discs to any player from Novice to Pro, once you try it you will be hooked!

Reviewing a 175g first run. Bought this to replace a lost fd3. The stal is slightly deeper and much taller/domer than an fd3 or firebird. The stability is very close to an fd3, but I’ve found it to fly about 10m shorter with less skip. Since working it out I throw it a lot more like a long midrange. Short aproach spike hyzers and the likes. Handles headwinds nicely too
